racket re-string

Our racket re-stringing service offers the chance for players to replace their broken strings or upgrade their current ones for better performance and control. Our highly qualified in-house stringer will assess the current condition of your racket, perform a re-string of your choice, then complete a post re-string health form, including any advisory additional comments.

Current String Options available:

YONEX BG 3

Your basic strings for novice players. Ultimate durability and power. Usually for players using plastic shuttles and just starting out in badminton. 18lbs to 20lbs tension recommendation.

YONEX BG 65

For advanced beginner level players. Still has durability but increased repulsion and control. Ideal for players moving from plastic to feather shuttles. Softer feeling. 18lbs to 22lbs tension recommendation.

YONEX BG 65 TI

Your most common selling string for competent level players. Increased control, and repulsion for players purely on feather shuttles, good baseline to baseline clearing skills. Harder feeling with better hitting sound. 20lbs to 24lbs tension recommendation.

YONEX BG 80

For proficient level players, competing to a higher national level. Greater repulsion, control and hitting sound. Harder feeling. 24lbs and upwards tension recommendation.

Basic factors to consider

Durability – How long the strings last before another re-string is needed.

Power – Repulsion & power generation.

Feeling – Harder or softer feeling when hitting the shuttle.

Control – More control is increased when the sweet spot is decreased.

Thickness – Thicker strings last longer and provide more comfort.

Tension recommendations

For beginners: 18lbs – 20lbs

For lower intermediate players: 20lbs - 22lbs

For upper intermediate or more advanced players 22lbs – 24lbs+

Turnaround time

7-10 days. Rackets can be picked up and returned at one of my weekly sessions.
